What is a good prom hair style with hair halfway up yet halfway down?

My prom date wants me to leave my hair down, but with an elegant dress, I look funny with my hair completely down and in my face. So I figured we could compromise. I need a hairstyle that is pulled back away from my face some how, yet still leaves much of the hair down, and is STILL elegant enough for an extremely formal dress.What is a good prom hair style with hair halfway up yet halfway down?
