What's a good hair cut for curly hair?

I have fine naturally curly hair with ringlets not waves. I would really like to get my hair cut, and am interested in an A-line cut with the hair longer in the front and shorter in the back. i have looked everywhere to try to find a picture with that cut on someone with curly hair. but all the pictures i can find are of people with either wavy hair or hair that has been curled(not natural). does anyone have a picture or know where i can find one with this haircut?? i'm afraid that it would look bad if i did it w/o knowing what it will look like.





i've heard that it doesn't really suit people with curly hair b'c it can get pretty poofy, but i thought that since my hair is pretty thin it might look alright.

Whatever you do, do not let your hair dresser use these funky ';thinning'; scissors. They look like they have little square notches in them. Your hair curls on its own and does not need help. I had somebody do that once and my hair was all fuzzy for weeks. I like long graduated layers.

I agree with the gist of jay-jay's point, which is, it's all about the hairdresser - the right one can pick the right shape for your hair based on your face shape %26amp; how thick/curly your hair is. That has been my experience with my wavy/curly hair, which has various sizes of waves %26amp; curls in different parts.
Go see Deana Tharp at Nassau West, near Oak Grove/Milwaukie area she has natural curly hair herself and understands what to do, she is great!

You can still get your bob get a curley one. If you watch hip hop look at Rhianna, Keri Hilson, and Mary J Blige to name a few. Their culey bobs ae beautiful when they wear them. As far as getting your hair stripped you shouldnt get any more color because then you are asking for a bald spot. if you want some color that bad just use an extension until your hair is more healthy and then if you want to dye it again feel free to do so without the worries. Just the fact that you asked if you should dye your bang tells me that you know you shouldnt pu those chemicals back in your hair. If you are going to the salon any good stylist wouldnt dye it anyway cause the whole point of stripping your hair to eliminate that which is foreign to your hair. Just find a great stylist you trust, let him or her work magic and youll be pretty I know!!!

hi! cutting your hair too short will make it go all poofy, so I suggest chin length layers that will define your curls even more. Dont get bangs, they will frizz up. Well I too have curly hair. I've found that layers are the best for curly hair. Unfortunatley a blunt cut would cause the mushroom head affect. Also long bangs are cute too.

Anyways I wouldn't lose more than 4-5 inches dry, which judging by your curliness is about 2-3 inches wet. Try measuring your hair from wet to dry for a more definite measurement. You'll want to tell the hair dresser how much exactly to cut off when wet to ensure they don't chop off too much. (I have had the triangle head hair, and you are right it is not fun.)



Nice, simple, long layers with longish to medium hair works very well with curls. The layers will help with drying and untangling time, and the hair will also hang better. However, DO NOT get short layers (they will stick up and look funny) or ';thinning'; with razors (that will make your ends ratty as they grow out). don't thin your hair or cut it too short if your hair is thin to begin with. curly and short is a bad combination, so keep it shoulder length or longer.

Well, since you have thin hair already you may not want to thin it out. I say maybe some layers, and maybe for a change straighten out your bangs on your own.. I love curly hair and straight bangs!

Layers are good for curly hair because they lighten the weight of the curl, allowing them to be more bouncy. I keep my curly hair at shoulder length and have layers all around. when I get out of the shower, I brush my hair and scrunch mousse into it. Then I dry it upside down with a diffuser attachment on my hairdyer. This keeps the curls from getting too frizzy and also gives my hair more volume (I've got pretty thin hair, but one wouldn't know it because of all the wonderful curls!)
if you get choppy layers the curls will sit on top of one another, this means your hair won't look too thin. If its thin, don't get it thinned out - this is really bad for your hair anyway! So my advice would be to get choppy layers, tell the hairdresser not to cut any length off and to cut it semi dry not wet.

Above your shoulders isn't so bad. It'll grow. I have used GNC ultra nourish hair in the past, and it helped my hair grow faster. They're available at CVS.

omg! i have dark brown curly curly hair with reddish highlights! HA well what ever you do don't EVER cut your bangs i didn't listen to my mom and did! she that was a disaster! i swear i had to bobby pin them back every time. Now don't cut your hair short at all you know that saying '; the shorter it is the curler it gets'; lol well every morning i get my hair a little wet just a little damp and i use moose all i do is squirt moose in my hand and scrunch it like for example take a piece of hair and a little moose and rub it together then i Just go and do my makeup and eat breakfast and by the time i leave its drY! just make sure you don't get it to wet! and everyone always says its adorable so try it! :)

i know it sounds weird, but when you have curly hair, the longer it is, the less effort it will take to make it presentable. seriously, just get trim and let your hair grow long. when you have short curly hair, you have to use alot of product to keep it from turning into a poodle/afro-looking thing. trust me, i have curls too.

To be honest, as you do dance and need to put it up, I'd suggest keeping it the same. There are loads of different hairstyles you can do with long, straight hair, so that it's not boring. If you get layers, it might be more difficult to put it in an updo for dance.



If you want a different hairstyle, maybe get a fringe/bangs? That way, you can simply put your hair up like always, but with a headband to keep the fringe out of your face.



As for hairstyles...

High ponytails, low ponytails, pigtails, plaits, half-pony, buns, loose... there are dozens of different, simple hairstyles that you can do for everyday that look cute and won't get in your way.

Long hair is anything but boring!

I got it cut JUST below my shoulder, so that it bounces up around that area. I really like it. It also has a layer in it to cut down on the poof at the bottom.


I have side bangs that turn into a little ringlet. I might grow them out, but they do make me feel unique and curly.

i have curly hair to, u can ask them to straighten ur hair when they r done cutting it so it will look great, i would go with a side bank, if u wear it in a pony tail u can wear it down straightened! and for the rest, get some layers and probably just trim ur hair because it is at ur shoulders when it is curly, so when its straight it will be a little longer, maybe just trim it. tell me how it goes! hope i helped!
