Hi!
I have SUPER thick hair, everytime I go to a salon and they wash it, the stylist always make a comment about it. But my trouble is, how the heck should I style it?
I love wavy hair, and my hair is somewhat wavy naturally, but I like the kind of beach waves or the messy look like emma watson has (off camera).
I've tried curling it with an iron, but theres just SO MUCH HAIR, I can't get it like the beach wave that I want. I've tried that thing where with damp hair you twist it and tie it back into a bun, but my hair takes literally 24 hours to dry. I didn't want to risk wearing it to bed, because I don't have time to fix it if it didn't come out right, (and it only worked 1 out of three times).
Does anyone know how to get the beach wave look out of really thick hair?
(P.S. I already have layers!)Thick hair styling issues... :(?
Layers are a good start but the problem with them is that they still keep most of the volume and texture you don't want at this point.
What you need to do is get your hair THINNED with a specific tool called thinning shears.
They will save you life or hair in this case!
And as for the beach waves look goes, sounds like your technique should work perfectly once your hair is much thinner.
You could also try braids or french braids.
Also another trick is using a 3/4'; curling iron(once your hair is THINNER) and curling it then, once your hair has cooled off, shake your hands through it to create a more natural and wavy loo, maybe add a little hairspray or mousse to make sure the lookstays in place during the whole day! :)
Hope this helped sweetie. :DThick hair styling issues... :(?
use a lil curl spray gel and a diffuser on the end of ur hair dryer..i do this all the time on my super thick hair and it works great..everyone always asks if its natural (it is..i have a lil curl in my hair) just get a diffuser that is deep not flat across and scrunch it a lil before drying. good luck!
