Im a guy and have thick black straight hair. Im half Filipino but dont have the typical Filipino hair grow pattern, lol. It grows from 2 points on either side of my head in the back so when it grows out a couple inches it wants to always lean forward. I usually grow it to about 3-4 inches. I used to gel it and try to spike it but it just ended up all hard and gross looking and when I used less strong gel or hairspray it looked dry and clumpy and looked like an afro, so one day I just shaved it all off and just went with a buzz style for a few months.
I want to grow it out again and I need some ideas on good ways to style it. I wanna just go for the messy/Dane Cook spike look.

have your stylist use thinning razor to thin it out and then it will be much more controllable. It works for me.
