I myself have thick hair, and i have quite a delema, since thats what im used to working with. A friend of mine has asked me to do her hair for a special occasion thats coming up, so i agreed. Problem is, she has such thin hair, i dont really know what to do with it. Any suggestions/tips?Hair styles for thin hair?
I am not sure if you are talking about styling her hair in the sense of an updo or if you are talking about leaving it loose. A good suggestion to add body to her hair would be to blow-dry it after washing it with a volumizing shampoo. If you are unfamiliar with volumizing shampoos, some good ones to try are Body Envy by Herbal Essences, John Freida's volumizing shampoo (get the right one for your friend's color, the light enhancers also work wonders for it), thicker fuller hair shampoo and sebastian body double. I would reccommend blow-drying with a large round brush, pulling the hair away from the head to create body. It is also a good idea to put in a volumizing product prior to styling, while the hair is still wet. I reccomend Rusk thickening spray, a Garnier xxl volumizing product, or Superstar by bedhead- it comes in a clear purple bottle and consists of a liquid which you apply to the hair. This will give it body without grease or a lot of build-up. Finish off the style with a volumizing hairspray which will also provide some hold. Good luck! Also..I do not know much about updos but a bun at the top of the head on thin hair can make the hair look thicker and fuller. Again, you may want to blow-dry first to achieve the body and then secure with a sparing amount of hairspray.Hair styles for thin hair?
Something stylish and dressy is a low, loose bun. You can frame the face with some wispy hairs or curl them lightly. You can also put a small flower in the bun to dress it up even more.
Something similiar to this: http://www.cosmogirl.com/cm/cosmogirl/im
Use plenty of hairspray and small bobby pins to hold it in place as thin hair can be very slippery. You can tease it lightly to give the illusion of more body.

leave it down. or put it in a peacock.
1) Wash hair with a thickening shampoo and conditioner.
2) Try some of this mouse, it works really well, it's called Got2B 2 Sexy. It's the best mouse probably ever. You'll need to apply it to the roots of her hair, all the way down to the ends, and blow dry with a round brush.
3) This should add more volume and make her hair look thicker. (volume = thickness that's NOT weighted down.)
4) Get MEGAhold hairspray and style her hair as your wish.
If her hair is too thin, and you don't want to wash it and go to the trouble, the best thing to do is buy clip in hair exstentions from Sally Beauty Supply.
They are usually $45 - $90. But they're worth it.
Also, make sure you buy the shampoo to wash the exstentions with too while your there, so she can wear them more than once.
Exstentions usually add thickness to hair.
